National Unity Government, Ministry of Labour Implements Ground-Level Initiatives
December 20, 2024 National Unity Government, Ministry of Labour continues to implement ground-level initiatives aimed at creating employment opportunities, ensuring stable income, and improving the livelihoods of the people. As part of these efforts, the Ministry has been supporting village-based enterprises in the agricultural and livestock sectors. On December 19, 2024, the Ministry of Labour distributed 20 bags of soil nutrients to several villages in the Sagaing Region to support local agricultural activities.

Mass Dismissal of MOU Workers at Vatana Phaisal Engineering Factory in Phetchaburi, Thailand – Compensation Secured
A total of 200 MOU workers were sent to work at the Vatana Phaisal Engineering Factory in Phetchaburi, Thailand. However, on the evening of October 29, 2024, 126 workers, including Ko Thant Zin Aung, were dismissed just two days before completing one year of service. Seeking assistance, the affected workers filed a formal complaint at the Labour Affair Office in Phetchaburi on October 31, 2024. Following negotiations at the Labour Affair Office on November 5, 2024, with factory representatives, relevant agencies, and stakeholders, an agreement was reached. Myanmar Migrant Worker in Coal Mine in Chachoengsao, Thailand, Seeks Compensation for Workplace Injury
U Min Tun, a Myanmar migrant worker employed at a coal mining operation in Chachoengsao, Thailand, sustained a workplace injury, resulting in the amputation of his right hand from the index finger onwards. Seeking compensation for his injury, he requested assistance, and a compensation claim was subsequently filed on his behalf at the Pakansakun Office in Chachoengsao. Additionally, support was provided in obtaining the necessary medical documents from the hospital. Eight Workers Unlawfully Dismissed from a Factory in Samut Prakan, Thailand, Successfully Claim Compensation
Eight workers from a factory in Samut Prakan, Thailand, were dismissed without prior notice and subsequently sought assistance. In response, a formal complaint was filed on their behalf at the Samut Prakan District Labour Affair Office. As a result of the legal proceedings, the workers successfully recovered a total of over 80,000 Baht in outstanding wages.
